Nursery Updates

So, since I am growing (in size and weeks), I thought it would be nice to keep moving on necessities for the nursery. I needed to motivate my hubs a bit since he does work in the summer and is a bit tired on the weekends. BUT, he LOVES making me happy :) (haha), so he got to work this past week. He sanded down a dresser that we had and attached a few boards on top for the changing pad. Then, I painted it (with lots of ventilation). It is now complete and it makes me so happy!

Here are a few pics of before and during the process:
(I will upload the final product once we have our hardware decided upon.)

Yay for most of the process being complete!
The changing table IS in the nursery, but without a changing pad and without hardware. I will def. put the final product on soon! I love it and am really excited about it!

We also purchased a glider rocker last week. The in-laws wanted to give a glider as a gift, but we felt that new ones were too expensive (especially with them having to pay for a wedding in January - Congrats, T and Andrew), so we found one that we liked on CraigsList. We didn't want one that was too big, but it needed to be sturdy and comfortable for my big and tall husband. So, we ended up with this one and are very happy with it.

It fits perfectly, and, boy, am I excited to rock in it in the middle of the night! :)

"It's Tuesday again?!?" - 28 weeks

Lee always knows when it's Tuesday because when he gets home from work the camara is sitting out on the end table. I always kindly state, "Whenever your ready, I'm ready," and that means that I'd like a picture taken because it's a new week! He replies with, "Again?!?" and I kindly share that each day is a memory. :) (That's what I tell my friends who think I am the picture nazi as well.) I need to record these special moments in our lives.

Also, Lydia came home from camp for a day this past weekend and shockingly stated, "I can't believe that there is a fetus growing inside of you!" It IS true! :) It just made me laugh because she doesn't see me a lot, so when she does see me, she is shocked at how different I look.

I am just starting to feel uncomfortable when sitting - it's like I need to move around a lot because something starts to ache or bother me. Other than that, I am still feeling great and loving this adventure. :)

This week, you get to see TWO pictures - a side view and front view. I feel that I am rounding out, so I wanted to get a shot of that.

27 weeks and Getting Big!

So, in my weekly update, it says that my uterus is now the size of a basketball and my baby boy is the size of a califlower (sp?) WOWZERS - this means that I am getting big and still have 13 more weeks to go!!

I have noticed lately that I look bigger in pictures than I really think I look. T-shirts have been getting a little snug, and I have been searching through them to find the bigger ones that I used to hide in the back "in case I got fat". Well, I am now finding them useful being pregnant! haha Also, I have been noticing that tank tops are too short and I'll be walking around Meijer or whereever and I suddenly notice that my tank is creeping up... Gosh, how embarrassing! So, I've been trying to be extra cautious lately. I love my belly, but I doubt all other people love it like I do. :)

Wow, I'm huge - tall and big belly with these girls!
Lee and I got invited to cook-out at the Nelson's beautiful place in Rockford this past weekend and this is a pic of the girls - me, Dana, Kris, Lis

Lyd and I after a picnic with the padres.
I haven't been able to see Lyd or hang out with her all summer since she's been at camp, so it is AMAZING to see her and actually hang out for a bit. Sisters are such a blessing; I have realized that more since she's been MIA.

27 weeks! :)

26 Weeks - Time Flies!

Wowzers! I am already past the 26 week mark and it seems like time is flying. And, I like that because that means I get to have a baby :), but that also means that the beautiful summer weather will soon fade to fall... leading to school already. I am really pumped for this school year because I will be teaching Spanish again - yay - but time flies.

Here are a few pics for the post. (Gotta have pics because my body is changing like crazy daily!)

At BP's baby shower - in order of pregnancy weeks
Ang - 26 weeks, BP - 30 weeks, me - 26 weeks, Jill - 21 weeks
Wow, my belly is big!

26 week photo - just after a pool day with Berkles. :)

BOOKS for BABY from Cousin Laura!
What a special gift! Cousin Laura was thinking when she asked if I'd like some Dr. Suess books for baby... I thought maybe 15, which would still be awesome, but look at all of these! I am PUMPED!

At the Cottage - July 4th Weekend

It's such a relaxing time when we head up to the cottage... Lee loves the time away from work and I just love being away. We had mostly perfect weather, almost too perfect because it was hot, but Lee took Berkley and I around on the pontoon a lot to keep us (him) active and not bored. I read a lot :) and enjoyed just relaxing and eating... Gosh, we eat a lot when we are up there... Here are a few pics that hopefully capture the ambiance. :)
It was foggy on Saturday morning, so we went into Ludington and walked around Art in the Park. It was a good time because it wasn't too hot. The only thing we bought was some special treats for Berkley. :) No baby stuff.

When we returned, it was perfect outside and we went out to enjoy the sun!
T and Andrew posing before the boat parade. Andrew loves to pose. :)

Lee packed us a cooler, cookies, and chex mix for a little pontoon ride/hang out as a family one day.

Grandma Norma came to visit us on the kayak! :) Berk was excited to see grandma, but nervous to ride in the kayak!

SO cute. (Think we need a kid? Berk gets his pic taken too often these days.)

The guys taking a break and hanging out.

A family pic. (just about 25 weeks in this pic)

Paint and Some Decor :)

We have paint in our baby room! Grandma Norma came over this week and painted the nursery. Lee was apprehensive on the color, but last night he said, "I am not going to lie, but I really like the color", which goes to prove that I did a good job. Basically, he is complimenting me without directly doing so. I like that. :)

The room is really green, but after hanging a few lanterns and purchasing a yellow shelf that I've had my eye on, I am feeling like the room will be amazing once completed. Now, we need a changing table and a homemade book shelf. :)

Here are a few pics of what we have so far.

24 weeks

I am a bit behind schedule (even though you'd think I wouldn't be since I am not working this summer), but I have been busy in my classroom and laying out. :) haha So, here is an update on my growing belly.
I have also felt lots of kicking in the past weeks - and Lee was able to see it the other night. He was impressed and said that it looked like a ripple in my stomach... What he doesn't know is that this baby boy kicks a lot... and squirms to the right side of my stomach - it's definitely a weird feeling.

We had an appt. and Dr. Gootjes says that we have an athletic boy inside because he won't sit still. She had to move the heartrate monitor all over just to get a heart beat. It's always an amazing thing when we hear the heart beat... Our God is so good. We are SO excited to be parents!

Mail from TN!

Earlier this week, Cousin Aaron, Anne, and Abby sent us a package from TN! I was thrilled because Aaron and Anne are such thoughtful people and had Abby last November, so Anne totally knows what things I may need for baby Borst's arrival. There was also a note to Berkley from Brinkley and Bowser.... Berkley felt special because he hasn't gotten much attention since people found out about a baby. It was such a nice gift and we are excited to use "baby in a bag" AND hear Ranae sing the (made up) song to baby. :)
