Who are the REAL campers?!?

This past week, we went camping (again) to Hoffmaster State Park with a bunch of couple friends - the Timmers, Hutts, DeWitts, Tiens (kinda), and the Wyngardens - for an afternoon. Overall, it was really fun and relaxing (besides the Thursday night rain which led Lee and I home to sleep - Lee decided we are not tenting it ever again - hah). We had some really hearty breakfasts, got some exercise hiking, made some angel poop :) and shared in our FIRST BABY SHOWER for little Baby Borst. :) Here are some pictures of the adventure.
Jim, Brian (and Addison), Lee, and Bob

The last summer that "The Borsts" will be a family of two. (Or three, if you count Berkley.)

On our hike - at the top of an amazing look out on Lake Michigan.
Me, Brian, Mindy, Lee, Jim

Hanging out by the fire.

Posing for our baby shower. :)

Eating AMAZING cupcakes - mine was key lime with LOTS of frosting. Yum!

The girls - Carrie, Jeni, Nicole, me, Angela, Mindy

A group shot. :)
BUT, the only REAL campers were Bob and Jen because they tented it - even in the rain.
We went home when it rained.
Timmers, Hutts, and DeWitts motorhomed it.
Wyngardens came up for the day.

23 weeks

Here's a belly pic from really far away. :) It seems that I always get ready for the day (not really in this pic) and by the time Lee gets home to take my weekly pic, I have comfy stuff on and look really crappy. So, I took one myself with the timer on my camara. It's not too good of a shot, but here it is!

Funny Stuff & A Gift from Aunt Ali :)

So... I decided that Baby Bjorn's are too expensive to buy new, so I found one (like new) on Craig's List for the baby. Lee and I thought it would be fun to let Berkley try it out so that he didn't feel neglected. haha
Hilarious! He hated it! haha

Also, this week, we got a very suprising gift from Aunt Ali in Florida! It was SUPER thoughtful and we LOVE that she bought Baby Borst his first swim suit - how perfect!

Gift from Gram & Gramps!

Grams Meinema (Iris) mentioned last week that her and Gramps would like to purchase something bigger for baby Borst from our registry. I named a few things and she liked the idea of getting the travel system. Mom ordered it for her since she doesn't work too well with computers, and mom told me to expect it sometime next week. BUT, today, it was in the mail!!!!! :) First, I LOVE fun mail. Second, it was BIG mail. I love that even more. :) So, we opened it up and put it all together. Now, we aren't able to use it for a while, but that's fine with me. I love looking at it and thinking that there WILL be a baby in it soon! SO thankful for my grandparents - for their constant support AND kind and thoughtful giving. :)

A Little Baby Practice

This past week, my girlfriends and I (along with spouses and kids) all camped at Wolf Lake Campground. It's our second time doing this, and the crew keeps getting bigger. This year from Wednesday through Friday, there were a total of 8 girlfriends and 9 kids (with 4 of the 9 being under one year old). WOWZERS! Then, on Friday night, the guys came after a long day of golfing. We would have liked better weather, but the fun is/was irreplacable. We enjoyed each other's company A LOT.

During our "stay" at Wolf Lake Campground, Lee and I were able to practice a bit with how babies work. :) haha Here are a few pics of our adventure this year.
Laying out (kinda) during one sunny moment while there.

Enjoying some snacks.

Lee holding Sam (Dee's babe), who was such a good boy. :)

Sam in the Baby Bjorn - he was so much fun!

Lee monitoring the little guys as they played. (Don't worry, moms were within reach.)

A little smokey, but still a good pic of us after we hadn't showered in days. :)

A Birthday Suprise!

Yesterday, Lee turned 28 and we had dinner and a movie planned for the evening. (We celebrated with his family the night before.) After a morning bike ride with Berkley, I was just getting reading to get in the shower when I heard a knock at the door. All doors were locked and I assumed it was something I ordered from etsy.com :), so I just took my shower. When I got out, Berkley and I went into the garage to see what it was, and it was our crib!!!! We weren't supposed to get it until late next week! We were thrilled!

So, needless to say, after Lee's birthday dinner (steaks and potatoes), we (Lee) set up the crib. :) Then, since we had the bedding, we wanted to just "make the bed", but we needed a mattress. So, off to Target we went. :) SUCH a great night. Here are a few pictures I captured - Lee LOVED when I took them while he was working!

"Someone" HAD to see what all the commotion was about and get the mattress comfy for baby. :)
You might be able to see his little eyes peering through the rails.

Yay!
As you can see, the walls need to be painted, which will be done in a couple weeks, but hey, it sure looks nice to me!
We're really excited!

Here's a pic of Lee's birthday "party" from the night before.
Happy Birthday, Lee P.! :)

One HUGE baby boy!

So, on the LAST day of school (yesterday), Lee and I went to find out the measurements of our baby boy and to see if there were any abnormalities with his growth. (We had an appt next week, but Dr. G was going to be on vacation, so we quickly moved it up.) Well, let's just say, he is going to be one HUGE baby boy. :)

I am just over 20 weeks, but he is measuring at 22 weeks. He is in the 98% for head, 94% for legs, 97% for abdomen. Dr. G said if he keeps growing like this, she'll want me to deliver early - like two weeks early. She's thinking a 10-12 lb baby right now.... OH MY GOODNESS! Lee and I are "big" people, but really?!?! I'm excited because I like big babies, but not out of my area......... haha. Everything else looks perfect and he is healthy. Such a blessing.

Finding out that we are having a BOY is so exciting and brings me to such a moment of awe. I never envisioned my life to be this filled with blessing. Knowing I have a healthy baby inside of me makes me feel so happy (even though I am gaining more weight than I thought). God is good. This summer, I am going to relax and enjoy this growing baby inside of me. :)

It's a BOY!

We went to our ultrasound with so much anticipation because our future would really be changing depending on if it was a BOY or GIRL. Lee said he didn't care, just so it was healthy. And I was leaning a bit towards a girl simply because I wanted to be different in this world of boy babies. After a few measurements, the ultrasound technician asked if we wanted to know, we did, and she simply moved the thing over a bit and there "it" (the little weiner) was! No mistake that IT WAS A BOY! I was just shocked - like really? Do I really have to get used to dirt and grass stains and dangerous things like dirt bikes?!?! BUT, overall, we both we thrilled with the news. Lee seemed to be a bit speechless (and sometimes he's just that way), but in the car he said that he was secretly hoping it would be a boy. :) It was cute. I am ready and excited for their special bonding. :) Also, bonding with the grandpas will be super special.

After, we quickly went to Carters to get a special outfit to share the news with family since we'd be going to my parents for Pat's 30th birthday party. This is what we suprised them with:
Our growing family.

Pat thought he really did look like me after eating two pieces of his ice cream dessert.

We needed a sibling pic since Lyd was leaving for Camp Geneva for the summer that next morning.
