A Visit to see Santa

So, I thought it was a brilliant idea to get a picture of Deagan with Santa for his first Christmas. Lee thought it was strange because he didn't know Santa and he asked, "Do normal people even do this? Go with their 2-month old baby to see Santa?" I was like, "Of course! Are you kidding me?" So we went. :) We spent an evening strolling down downtown Holland - eating dinner, shopping, and of course, visiting Santa. :)
He isn't too sure about who was holding him. :) AND, those pants sure needed to be pulled down. haha (They were not capris even though many pants are too short for his long body.)

I am trying to motivate some smiles. I got nothing.

Posing!

I have a REALLY cute baby blue one-piece suit for Deagan that I thought would fit him when we had snow. I had no intentions of him "playing" in the snow, but I was hoping to get some pictures of him in it with snow in the background. That obviously did not happen and the suit does not fit anymore. So... we had a photo shoot in his crib with the suit on. :) He did well! Maybe he'll be a model someday with his serious faces. :) haha

Smiles!

We have smiles!! At exactly 8 weeks, Deagan started smiling! It was SUCH a great thing! At first, they were very random and short, but eventually I got some on my camara. I am taking these while making him smile, so they are not centered or anything. Just wanted to share our joyous milestone!

2-month Photos

I know... I am super late at posting these, BUT I am now (and have been for three weeks) a full-time MOM and a full-time TEACHER. I LOVE both roles that I play, but it just keeps me busy. When I get some down time, which doesn't happen much, I usually like to just cuddle my boy.

Deagan was TWO months old on December 2. Here are some updates:
Getting SO big! If you compare ONE month pics to TWO month pics, you'll see that he is chubbier... especially those legs!

Funny faces for mom!

2-month check-up

So... I am loving this milestone of reaching 2 months, but I have been dreading the shots that Deagan would have at his appointment. It has now passed, and he didn't do so bad! We got to the appt and he was SO jolly! He just loved laying on the table in the room in only his diaper. He kicked, talked, smiled, etc. After the shots, he calmed down quickly. We had some bonding and he "talked" to me in little gurgles and facial expressions... He didn't like those shots. :(

Here are his measurements and percentiles:
Height - 24 inches (88%)
Weight - 13lbs 10oz (80%)
Head - 15 3/4 inches (76%)

What a BIG, healthy baby boy!!! :) SUCH a blessing.

Thanksgiving :)

This year, we have such extra thanks to give! Deagan has been a blessing (except for the no sleep part) and we love how much he has changed and grown already. He has such a personality and it's so fun to watch him learn new things.

Meeting Friends!

Deagan and I have had the opportunity to spend some time with other babies that are new to this world. AND, they all happen to be girls!!! Here are a few pics.
We had coffee with high school friend, Becky, and her cute little babe, Sydney. Sydney is 2 1/2 weeks older than Deagan.

Smiles!

Deagan seemed really excited to meet Sydney... haha. He slept the whole time. What a player!

Meeting the Timmer Twins - Charlotte and Savannah
The twins joined this world 2 1/2 weeks after Deagan.

Deagan wasn't really too sure about all the girls... but he did obviously win the belly contest! :)
Big sister, Addison, wanted to join in on the fun.

Baptism - November 20, 2011

Deagan got baptized last Sunday and we had our family there to share in the special time. We normally wouldn't have had him baptized so soon (being only 7 weeks), but our pastor was leaving on sabbatical that next day (Monday). Our pastor married us and has been a great part of our lives, so it was important to us that Deagan was baptized by him.

Excuse the guitar in the way...

Random Photos of Deagan

He is growing AND changing.
He weighed 7lbs 6oz at birth.
He weighed 8lbs 5oz at a 3 week check-up.
AND he weighed a whopping 10lbs 10oz at a 5 week appt.

WOW - He's gaining some weight!!

Passed out in his bouncy. His favorite.

Getting ready to go somewhere with his new hat. :)

Visiting Great Grandma (97 years old). She says she wants to babysit... right.
Also, don't tell her that she is on the internet. She is embarrassed of her hair.. haha

The THREE boys just resting together.

ONE Month

ONE month has come and gone. Deagan was one month on November 2. I can't believe it. I thought I'd have lots of time to sit on the computer and update the blog, but it is almost more of a hassle since I LOVE my cuddle time with D and... there are so many other things I SHOULD be doing. :)

So, here are a few pics of him in his ONE month tie. :)
He wouldn't let me take out his paci, so hopefully next month he'll have a smile for you. :)

Such a big boy in his crib!

SO long.......... those frog legs are beginning to get some chub on them!!

Deagan's First Halloween

We will be celebrating many FIRSTS throughout this year and one is Halloween. I originally decided that Deagan was too little to have a costume, but a friend let me borrow her son's, so he got to be TIGGER for his first Halloween. We also had a little party to celebrate this FIRST with make-your-own-ice-cream-sundaes.
Practicing sitting up.

Just disgusted that my brother, Berkley, has to be in every picture... hah

Loving each other. :)
